Abstract

The built environment, defined by the building and the civil infrastructure systems used by people who live in it, is the fundamental foundation upon which a society exists, develops, and survives. As main providers and watchers of such 'built environment' throughout its useful life, Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industries play a critical role in determining the quality, integrity and longevity of this foundation. This paper offers a conceptual roadmap and an initial set of principles to implement built environment sustainability.
