Abstract

Big infrastructures are a reflection of our society progress, our social and economic development. However, this development can not be carried out neglecting our natural heritage, following a model which nowadays has been shown as untenable. The present paper focuses on a new infrastructures design and planning model, where the environment functionality (in a sustainable view) takes part in the infrastructure design, from the beginning adjusting to the environment in the most respectful and harmonious way as possible, as humans did for centuries.
