Abstract

The aim of this paper is to compare the patterns of industrial and geographical distribution of Basque and Spanish FDI outflows. Despite the fast rise of Basque outward FDI, however these outflows are highly concentrated in a small set of industries, mainly in financial sector. In fact, the data of industrial distribution of outward FDI show a lower degree of productive internationalisation of Basque firms than in the case of Spanish investments.
