Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the investment and financial behavior of Spanish Non Financial Firms in the period 1983-2000. The theoretical framework to understand this behavior is Corporate Governance (as defined by Schleifer y Vishny, 1997). In particular, we aim to determine if the liberalization of the financial system, the bank crisis, or the growing role of institutional investment has changed the way firms finance their investment.
