Abstract

Economic analysis of associations may be carried out through various approaches, the most usual consisting in considering associations either as belonging to the non market sector, or as a component of social economy (following a more francophone or latin tradition), or even, as non-profit organizations (following a more anglo-saxon tradition). The final objective of this article is to review the main advantages and disadvantages of each of these three approaches.
