Abstract

Spanish economical policy is in need of urgent redrafting, the more so bearing in mind the establishment of the European Single Market. Once it is recognized that the exclusiva use of monetary instrumentation has been exhausted as a means, the use of a set of budgetary measures and an incomes policy should be impulsed. In any case, the fiscal and salaty policies will be easier to apply if the widest possible agreement between the various political and social agents is reached. In this way, the economical and social costs derived from the new economic situation would be adequately distributed and the appearance of more competitive sectorial structures would be made possible.
