Assessing bank capitalization with asymmetric transformation: advantages and shortcomings of the existing approaches

Abstract

The article deals with advantages and shortcomings of the use of the methods of market assessment of bank capital under the conditions of asymmetric information. The author analyzes the differences between the market approach to assessing the capital value and the approach used by the National Bank of Ukraine and justifies the advisability to balance the regulator's approach and market techniques of the assessment of the value of bank capital.
