Política social y reactivación económica ante el COVID-19: Bolivia y su apuesta por los bonos

Abstract

En este trabajo se evalúa el impacto del Bono contra el Hambre (BcH) sobre la desigualdad y la pobreza en Bolivia. Como metodología se emplea el modelo de microsimulación de beneficios LATINMOD-Bolivia que tienen como interfaz a EUROMOD. Los resultados sugieren que el Bono contra el Hambre cumplió con su propósito al amortiguar una exacerbación del nivel de desigualdad del país y mitigar el incremento en el nivel de pobreza. Es así que, de no haberse adoptado este bono, la desigualdad, medida por el índice de Gini, habría alcanzado 45,6 puntos, frente a los 44,8 en los que se mantuvo por efecto directo del BcH; asimismo, el porcentaje de población que vive por debajo de la línea de pobreza hubiese sido del 39%, frente al 37% en el escenario con la adopción del Bono contra el Hambre.
