Kontraverze o inflaciji: Je li inflacija od 0% moguca i korisnac

Abstract

Poslije II. svjetskog rata, u vrijeme dominacije kejnzijanaca, hit ekonomske misli i ekonomske politike bila je puna zaposlenost. Beveridge, Harrod i drugi ugledni ekonomisti zagovarali su stopu nezaposlenosti od 0% kao first -best solution za bilo koju ekonomiju uz zanemarivanje razine inflacije. Vec pocetkom 1950 - ih M. Friedman zagovarao je stopu inflacije od 0% kao first-best solution, uz zanemarivanje razine nezaposlenosti. Dominacija neoliberalizma u XXI. stoljecu vidi 0 % inflacije kao first-best solution, kako za pojedino gospodarstvo tako i za globalnu ekonomiju. Ballasa-Samuelson efekt, na primjer, drži da tranzicijske zemlje moraju imati odrecenu blagu inflaciju te da je ona ocekivana i dobrodošla. Krugman, Stiglitz, Dornbusch i drugi drže da je inflacija od 10-40% prihvatljiva i poželjna za tranzicijske zemlje. Hrvatska vlada boluje od sindroma inflacije vec sa stopom inflacije od 5%. Ovaj prilog bavi se ponovnim promišljanjem ekonomske teorije po pitanju inflacije i pokušava naci odgovor na pitanje je li inflacija od 0% moguca i ako jest, je li 0% inflacije first-best solution za nacionalno gospodarstvo.
