Abstract

The article describes an experiment to determine the recall and precision characteristics of detected patent equivalents and to compare tje results obtained from the Derwent, INPADOC, INPI, and VNIIPI CSPI-2 and 'TEMP' databases. Three basic patent families are used as the bases of the experiment and the results of the retrieval requests in all the above databases are discussed in detail.
