Age and residual lifetime distributions for branching processes

Abstract

We introduce and investigate age and residual lifetime distributions associated with branching stochastic processes and motivated by biological applications. The required distributions and their limiting forms are derived in a general class of age-dependent branching processes with non-homogeneous Poisson immigration.
