On the ML-estimator of the positive and negative two-parameter binomial distribution

Abstract

Conditions of existence and uniqueness of the maximum likelihood estimator are discussed for a two-parameter hyperbinomial distribution linking the positive binomial distribution with the negative binomial distribution in terms of a real non-poissonian dispersion parameter.
