Abstract

We present new measurements of the kinetics of polymerization near the polymerization line of poly(α-methylstyrene) in the solvent tetrahydrofuran, initiated by sodium naphthalide or cesium naphthalide. We develop a computer model of the kinetics of the reversible polymerization of this system. We fit the model to the experimental data to obtain rate constants for propagation and depropagation.
