Nonequilibrium Green's functions and kinetic equations for highly excited semiconductors

Abstract

The nonequilibrium Green's function technique according to Keldysh is used to study the nonlinear response of excitonic systems in direct semiconductors on an externally driven coherent light field. The concept of partial coherence is introduced to separate the initially excited coherent particles from the relaxed incoherent ones. It allows to formulate an equation for the particle propagator of incoherent particles and an equation for the coherent particle amplitude both coupled by the self-energy.
