Abstract

While grouper mariculture program has been widely advocated to provide alternative incomes for grouper fishermen and to manage the wild grouper, no empirical studies to examine its adoption have been employed. This study was conducted to evaluate grouper fishermen and middlemen perceptions toward the adoption/nonadoption of a mariculture program. The study shows that a significant percentage of fishermen and middlemen are willing to adopt a mariculture program. The implications of these results for project managers and policy makers are also discussed.
