Author

Listed:
  • Mayrhofer, Ulrike

Abstract

This article provides an insight into strategic alliances formed between French and British companies. Based on a sample of 148 collaborative agreements, it aims at contributing to a better understanding of intra-European partnerships. The author analyses key statistics of Franco-British corporate links: temporal evolution, sectoral distribution, number of partners, functional content, and contractual form. Furthermore, methodological aspects concerning the observation of alliance formation are discussed and large-scale empirical studies of international coalition activity are examined.
