Índice de vulnerabilidad en la infraestructura de la vivienda ante el COVID-19 en México

Abstract

En esta investigación se propone un índice multidimensional con base en la metodología de Alkire y Robles (2017) y CONEVAL (2018), que ayuda a medir la vulnerabilidad frente a la enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) de las popularmente llamadas viviendas precarias en México. En este índice se toman en cuenta factores que influyen en la propagación del COVID-19, como la precariedad de los materiales de construcción y servicios básicos de la vivienda, el hacinamiento en el hogar, la densidad habitacional municipal y la carencia de acceso a servicios de salud. Sobre la base de la encuesta intercensal más reciente, se estima el índice, que señala claramente las zonas prioritarias a atender. De los 2.457 municipios de México, un 16,81% se encuentra en situación de vulnerabilidad alta y muy alta. A su vez, estos municipios son los que presentan el mayor número de contagios, mientras que las muertes están mayormente asociadas a los factores de salud preexistentes.
