Violencia de pareja contra las mujeres en México: una comparación entre encuestas recientes

Abstract

En este estudio se realiza un análisis de la violencia de pareja contra las mujeres en México sobre la base de una comparación entre cuatro encuestas recientes. El examen se centra en mujeres casadas menores de 50 años que viven con sus parejas. En primer lugar, se estiman y comparan las prevalencias de violencia emocional, física, sexual y económica. A pesar de las diferencias metodológicas, las cuatro encuestas convergen en una prevalencia del 10% en el caso de la violencia física, mientras la prevalencia de los otros tres tipos de violencia difiere significativamente. En segundo lugar, se estiman los factores de riesgo asociados a cada tipo de violencia. Los hallazgos son coincidentes o divergentes según las fuentes de datos. Por último, se enfatiza la necesidad de homogeneizar y mejorar las encuestas sobre el tema en México.
