Kuzey Kýbrýs’ta Büyükbaþ Hayvancýlýk Ýþletmelerinin Süt Verimliliði

Abstract

Büyükbaþ hayvancýlýk iþletmelerde süt verimi bir iþletmenin ekonomik sürdürülebilirliðini ve karlýlýðýný belirleyen en önemli faktörler arasýndadýr. Kuzey Kýbrýs’ta büyükbaþ hayvancýlýk iþletmelerinin düþük süt verimliliði birçok iþletme için ekonomik kayýplara yol açtýðý düþünülmektedir. Bu nedenle, bu araþtýrmanýn amacý ülkedeki süt verimliliðini ilçeler, soðuk/açýk süt veren iþletmeler ve iþletme ölçekleri bazýnda ortaya çýkarýlmak ve sonrasýnda da hayvancýlýk iþletmelerin yüksek süt verimi elde etmek için yapmasý gerekenleri ne kadar yerine getirdiði sorusuna cevap aramak olmuþtur. Ýlçeler arasýnda Lefkoþa ve Gazimaðusa ilçelerinin, soðuk/açýk arasýnda soðuk süt veren iþletmelerin ve ölçekler arasýnda büyük ölçeklerdeki iþletmelerin istatiksel olarak anlamlý derecede daha yüksek süt verimine sahip olduklarý ortaya çýkmýþtýr. Araþtýrmanýn ikinci bölümü için bir saha çalýþmasý yürütülmüþtür. Bu çalýþmanýn sonuçlarý ölçekler arasýndaki süt verimi farkýný açýklamak için kullanýlmýþtýr. Buna göre ölçekler büyüdükçe iþletmeler daha fazla eðitim alýyor, daha fazla kayýt tutuyor, kendi yemini üretiyor, saðmal baþýna daha fazla konsantre yem veriyor ve sürüden verimsiz saðmallarý çýkartmak için daha az süre bekliyorlar.
