Distritos Industriales En Las Provincias De Ecuador Y El Sector Manufacturero Del Cuero De Quisapincha

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza el caso de la aglomeración manufacturera de cuero de Quisapincha, provincia de Tunguragua (Ecuador) buscando determinar si presenta las características del distrito industrial marshalliano-becattiano, identificado en la experiencia Prato. Los resultados muestran que Quisapincha se encuentra todavía en un estado de desarrollo distrital embrionario, donde no existe una “atmósfera industrial” que produzca “eficiencia colectiva”, con un panorama casi ausente de iniciativas de subcontratación y sin apoyo institucional adecuado. Sin embargo, su evolución podría revertirse mediante procesos de integración vertical y horizontal, liderados por un potencial agente coordinador (en italiano Impannatore), representado por la empresa Curtiembre Quisapincha.
