La Influencia Del Entorno Y La Especialización En Los Rankings De Universidades

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza los diversos factores que pueden condicionar la posición en los llamados Rankings de las universidades en términos de los indicadores de productividad. En concreto se contrasta la existencia de la influencia de la especialización, por un lado, y del entorno, por otro, en el que operan las universidades. Para ello se utilizan las técnicas de análisis clúster y el contraste de hipótesis sobre variables que recogen los niveles de producción de las 47 universidades públicas que componen el Sistema Universitario Español en distintos ámbitos y variables de desarrollo de las 17 comunidades autónomas de España. Los resultados obtenidos muestran la importancia de considerar estos factores (especialización y entorno) a la hora de analizar el desempeño de las universidades mediante los Rankings, dado que su omisión podría dar lugar a resultados sesgados.
