Análisis De Los Factores Subyacentes En Los Rankings Internacionales De Universidades

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es investigar la existencia de un factor oculto en dos de los rankings globales de universidades más influyentes del mundo, utilizando técnicas factoriales y regresiones multivariables. Los resultados obtenidos apoyan la tesis de que estos rankings no están midiendo la calidad universitaria, ya que son otras variables, como la reputación o el país de procedencia, las que explican las ordenaciones a las que finalmente llegan. Se concluye de este resultado la recomendación de minimizar la influencia que ejercen sobre las instituciones que ordenan.
