El dinamismo de la soja y su impacto en la economía paraguaya, 1991-2006

Abstract

En este artículo se analizan los aspectos más relevantes relacionados con el incremento de la producción de soja en Paraguay en el periodo 1991-2006, así como el contexto internacional. El objetivo es, examinar este fenómeno y su impacto en la economía paraguaya a nivel nacional. Se emplean modelos econométricos para analizar su influencia sobre el PIB nacional, sobre otros sectores de la economía, utilizando como indicador de estos al PIB no Agrario, así como su posible influencia en la generación de empleo. Las conclusiones muestran una influencia positiva pero también la necesidad de impulsar otros sectores como la industria y el turismo ya que la agricultura, aún siendo importante, no es suficiente para impulsar el nivel de renta real por habitante de Paraguay a niveles próximos o superiores a la media mundial.
