Gesundheitsstandort Berlin-Buch: Impulse für den Strukturwandel in der Stadt
Abstract
Berlin-Buch ist ein auf Biomedizin spezialisierter Standort, an dem Unternehmen, Forschungseinrichtungen und die klinische Praxis im direkten Umfeld eng zusammenarbeiten. Mit über 4 500 Beschäftigten gehört Berlin-Buch zu den führenden Clustern dieser Art in Deutschland. Von den gesamten Ausgaben des Gesundheitsstandortes Berlin- Buch (465,2 Millionen Euro) gehen spürbare Impulse auf Wirtschaft und Arbeitsmarkt Berlins aus. Die ökonomischen Effekte lassen sich pro Jahr auf insgesamt 320,4 Millionen Euro zusätzliche Wertschöpfung quantifizieren. Dadurch werden rund 3 000 Berliner Arbeitsplätze außerhalb des Standortes gesichert. Die Einrichtungen und Unternehmen am Gesundheitsstandort Berlin-Buch erhalten jährlich rund 12,6 Millionen Euro Fördermittel des Landes Berlin. Vor dem Hintergrund der prekären Haushaltslage Berlins wurde der Effekt der alternativen Verwendung der Landesmittel zur vorzeitigen Rückzahlung der Schulden des Landes Berlin berechnet. Hierbei ergäbe sich eine Ersparnis von 53 Cent je vorzeitig zurückgezahltem Euro. Dem steht eine zusätzliche Wertschöpfung in Berlin-Buch von 69 Cent je Euro Fördermittel gegenüber. Die langfristige Wirkung des in Berlin-Buch akkumulierten Wissenskapitals auf die gesamtwirtschaftliche Produktivität in Deutschland lässt sich auf 100 Millionen Euro pro Jahr beziffern. Damit Berlin stärker vom Wertschöpfungspotential in Berlin-Buch profitieren kann, ist es erforderlich, den Anteil der Berliner Unternehmen in der biomedizinischen Wertschöpfungskette weiter auszubauen.Download Info
