Betriebszeiten als Standortfaktor

Abstract

Die durchschnittliche woechentliche Nutzungszeit der Anlagen in der Industrie auch als Maschinenlaufzeit bezeichnet - wird zuweilen als ein wichtiger Indikator fuer die Wettbewerbsposition einer Volkswirtschaft betrachtet. Die Bundesrepublik ist nach EU-Angaben das europaeische Land mit den kuerzesten Maschinenlaufzeiten. Hierin wird ein Standortnachteil gesehen. Eine solche Interpretation ist empirisch schlecht belegbar und aus grundsaetzlichen Erwaegungen fragwuerdig. Ueberdies sollte nicht die Laenge, sondern die Flexibilitaet von Arbeits- und Betriebszeiten im Vordergrund stehen.
