Zur Entwicklung der sektoralen Außenhandelsverflechtung: Strukturwandlungen durch die deutsche Vereinigung beeinflußt

Abstract

Traditionell weist die Bundesrepublik im Warenhandel Exportueberschuesse aus; sie stiegen in den Jahren von 1980 bis 1989 kraeftig. In der ersten Haelfte der achtziger Jahre belief sich der Saldo im Warenhandel auf jahresdurchschnittlich 45 Mrd. DM, in der zweiten Haelfte auf knapp 120 Mrd. DM. Der Exportueberschuss reichte zumeist aus, um die Defizite in der Dienstleistungs- und in der Uebertragungsbilanz zu finanzieren. Nach der Vereinigung erzielte die Bundesrepublik im Warenhandel mit dem Ausland 1991 nur noch einen Ueberschuss von gut 30 Mrd. DM. Danach hat dieser zwar wieder kraeftig zugenommen - er betrug im vergangenen Jahr 83 Mrd. DM -, doch ist die deutsche Leistungsbilanz seitdem defizitaer. Da die Dienstleistungsund die Uebertragungsbilanz auch weiterhin grosse Defizite aufweisen werden, wird die Bundesrepublik auf eine international sehr leistungsfaehige Industrie bauen muessen.
