Entwicklung des Personenverkehrs in Deutschland bis zum Jahr 2010

Abstract

Vor vier Jahren hat das DIW eine Projektion des Personenverkehrs bis 2010 für die alten Bundesländer veröffentlicht. Inzwischen haben sich durch die Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands und die politischen Umwälzungen in Osteuropa grundlegend neue Bedingungen ergeben. In diesem Bericht wird der Personenverkehr in Deutschland insgesamt für das Jahr 2010 unter Zugrundelegung der aktuellen Bevölkerungsprognose des DIW und unter Einbeziehung der Ergebnisse neuerer Stichprobenerhebungen vorausgeschätzt. Werden die bisherigen Grundsätze der Verkehrspolitik unverändert beibehalten, so ist bis zum Jahr 2010 mit einer weiteren erheblichen Zunahme des Pkw-Verkehrs und der durch ihn verursachten Umweltprobleme zu rechnen. Die Pkw-Fahrleistung würde in Westdeutschland um gut ein Fünftel, in Ostdeutschland um vierFünftel steigen.
