VR China: Wandel durch weltoffenen Handel?

Abstract

Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Volksrepublik China ist durch gegensätzliche Signale gekennzeichnet. Auf der einen Seite trugen Reformen, vor allem in der Außenwirtschaft, dazu bei, daß 1991 das reale Wachstum des Sozialprodukts Chinas mit 7 vH das aller seiner asiatischen Nachbarn übertraf, die Industrieproduktion um 14 vH stieg und in der Landwirtschaft aus schweren Unwetterschäden resultierende Produktionseinbußen durch Produktivitätsfortschritte mehr als wettgemacht werden konnten. Die Ausfuhren wuchsen - gegenläufig zum stagnierenden Welthandel - um knapp 16 vH. Demgegenüber verschärfen sich die Gegensätze zwischen den durch hohen Außenwirtschaftsanteil geprägten Wachstumsregionen, speziell des Südens, einerseits und den zurückbleibenden, konservativ beherrschten Gebieten andererseits.
