Abstract

(VA) In order to survive, firms have to seize opportunities. Boundary spanners are employees adopting an interfacing role between the company and its environment. These individuals play a part in external information gathering and diffusion inside the firm. Their role in the seizing of opportunities still needs to be explored. Referring to empirical illustrations, this article analyzes the contribution of boundary spanners to the firm's dynamic capabilities. It sheds a light on the individual and organizational levers supporting the capacity of the firm to seize opportunities.
