Abstract

(VF)Ce papier étudie la survie des coopératives agricoles françaises. Le plus souvent étudiées sous le prisme néoclassique, elles sont considérées comme inefficientes alors que de nombreux rapports soulignent leur résilience. Les coopératives résistent-elles mieux que les entreprises classiques ? Pour répondre à cette question, nous mobilisons un modèle de survie à temps discret. Nos résultats montrent que la structure de propriété influence la survie : les coopératives ont une tendance à fusionner plus importante que les entreprises classiques, mais leur probabilité de disparaître par liquidation est plus faible. De plus, il apparait que les ratios financiers classiques ne permettent pas d’expliquer pleinement la résistance des coopératives.
