Phraseological Units Transformation As A Way Of Linguistic Manipulation In The Mass Media

Abstract

The aim of the article is studying the headings of the Dagestan independent Russian-language press and substantiating the thesis that the transformation of phraseological units in them is a means of linguistic manipulation.Method. Observation of linguistic material, description of headings.Results. During the analysis of the texts of journalists in independent socio-political weekly newspapers of Dagestan, the tendency of using the transformed phraseological units in the names of publications was noted.Conclusions. The transformation of phraseological units in the headlines not only draws attention to the newspaper material, but also contributes to the formation of the audience’s negative evaluation.
