Abstract

The present article deals with the decisions of medium-sized companies to hire additional employees and with the question under which conditions the expansion of business activities leads to such a decision. In particular, this paper discusses the relationship between making and executing employment decisions. To analyze this relationship we present a theoretical approach which accentuates the collective character of the organizational decision making process. The empirical study uses the case study method. It undertakes the reconstruction of the employment decisions in eleven companies.
