Abstract

The succession process is one of the most difficult challenges in family businesses. Therefor the literature specialized in succession takes a central part in an effective support. / To verify which topics are focused in the succession literature, the following article executes a literature review of 50 books in German. The findings are illustrated in a concept matrix. An additional comparison of the reference lists shall help to identify the most cited publications, whose contents are also illustrated. / The categorization and systematization of the analyzed books enables the reader to get an idea which topics are examined and where further research seems necessary.
