La economía Política del crecimiento en la España del siglo XIX: A propósito de la síntesis de historia económica de Gabriel Tortella

Abstract

En historia económica —como en toda actividad científica— es necesaria la producción de síntesis por tres razones. En primer lugar, para facilitar la difusión pedagógica, entre los no iniciados, del conjunto de interpretaciones vigentes sobre los principales problemas que la disciplina tiene planteados. En segundo lugar, porque es necesario, de tiempo en tiempo, para la propia búsqueda de sentido de los especialistas, apartarse de los campos singulares de estudio y reflexionar acerca del estado en que se encuentran las grandes preguntas que los investigadores se han hecho, así como de las respuestas que a lo largo de un período determinado se han dado.
