Abstract

La energía hidráulica en el proceso de industrialización La energía hidráulica suele ser la cenicienta en los estudios sobre la revo-lución industrial. Ésta se asocia indisolublemente a la energía del vapor, es decir, a un combustible —el carbón mineral— y a un convertidor —la máquina de vapor—. La asociación fue evidente para los contemporáneos, y cualquier emulación de la industrialización inglesa exigía disponer de carbón barato para accionar los nuevos agentes mecánicos, principalmente las máquinas de hilar y tejer algodón.
