Production and Consumption in the Low Countries, 13th 16th Centuries. By Raymond van Uytven. Aldershot: Ashgate Publishing, 2001. Pp. xiii, 352. $105.95
AbstractSimultaneous to preparing this volume of reprinted essays, Raymond van Uytven retired from his long-time post as professor at the University of Antwerp. Thus there is an air of retrospection to this selection from among a very rich oeuvre, which permits historians either unfamiliar with the recent historiography of the medieval and early modern Low Countries (chiefly Brabant and Flanders) or unable to read Dutch, to learn from this significant if lesser known figure among Belgian historians.
