John Paul II on the key issues of work

Abstract

John Paul II did not deal with all the issues which are of interest to Economics, but only with the issues of human work. He conducted a thorough analysis of the nature and role of work in the life of Man and society the dignity of work, solidarity among working people, the contradictions between labour and capital, the exploitation of working people, and the right to rest. He also the distinguished between the subjective and objective dimensions of work. These investigations into various aspects of work constitute a genuine enrichment of contemporary economic thought.
