Conflicto y recursos naturales: ¿qué ha dicho la literatura sobre el asunto?

Abstract

Este documento hace una breve revisión de los estudios académicos más representativos de la literatura económica internacional que relacionan conflicto y recursos naturales. Estos estudios son en su mayoría cross country, y plantean generalidades sobre dichas relaciones. La mayoría de países que se han estudiado cuentan con recursos mineros tales como diamantes o petróleo. Estos estudios muestran una relación positiva entre duración del conflicto y presencia de recursos. Dicha relación es más fuerte entre más fácil de transportar sean los recursos
