Abstract

O presente trabalho pretende analisar a longa e polemica acerca da construcao da Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte, a maior do Brasil, localizada no Estado brasileiro do Pará, uma vez que há um grande debate nacional e internacional trantando dos diversos impactos de sua construcao. Nessa perspectiva, avaliaremos as principais consequencias nos ambitos social, ambiental e economico, bem como as repercussoes internacionais associadas a construcao da hidrelétrica e, para tanto, realizaremos uma revisao bibliográfica, analisando alguns dados economico-financeiros, a partir dos princípios da stakeholder approach. As principais conclusoes sao relativas a necessidade de se manter o debate vivo no contexto nacional, uma vez que suas implicacoes sao significativas nos diversos setores e nas populacoes afetadas pelo empreendimento, sendo os impactos distintos em níveis e esferas.
