Historia y proyección del concepto de renta básica universal

Abstract

En este artículo se presenta una revisión de literatura sobre la historia del surgimiento del concepto renta básica universal (RBU) como política económica de bienestar social, con base en los aspectos analítico, integrativo, observacional y retrospectivo. Posteriormente, el conjunto de documentos analizados se clasificó por etapas históricas definidas por los autores así: Revolución Francesa, siglo XIX, siglo XX y perspectivas del siglo XXI. Como conclusión, se puede afirmar que la RBU, en especial desde el siglo XIX, se convierte en una opción de política pública con alta potencialidad de mejorar la justicia social, en particular en contextos de alta concentración de la riqueza y, aún más, con el advenimiento de procesos de automatización y robotización que afectan el empleo y, por ende, el bienestar de las sociedades en el siglo XXI.
