De la economía agrícola a la economía de la ruralidad

Abstract

En este trabajo se estudia la dinámica de la economía colombiana en los últimos 43 anos. Análisis sectoriales y regionales evidencian la relevancia del sector primario como fuente de crecimiento y riqueza. Al comparar la industria frente al sector primario, se resalta la importancia de este último y su dominancia en el 75 % de los departamentos. Se invita a formuladores de políticas a entender a Colombia desde el territorio, exaltando la economía de la ruralidad en contraste con la economía agrícola. Este nuevo enfoque se aleja de los arreglos institucionales de los sistemas de cuentas nacionales, para adentrarse en las actividades que se desarrollan en los territorios rurales, lo que permite entender las problemáticas desde un enfoque sistémico y no desde sus costos de oportunidad y competitividad.
