Bogotá: metrópoli de conflictos

Abstract

En este ensayo se presentan dos aspectos de Bogotá. Por un lado, la metrópoli que está creciendo y que reporta cifras positivas en la tendencia del periodo analizado, en referencia a indicadores como el de las necesidades básicas insatisfechas (NBI), el índice de desarrollo humano (IDH), y la inversión extranjera directa. Es la Bogotá que disfruta de la exigencia y el acceso a los mercados más dinámicos y en general a la globalización. Por otro lado, la Bogotá de los que no tienen empleo, cuya capacidad de pago es bastante limitada, y viven en el sobresalto de la inseguridad. Este trabajo pretende mostrar -desde una perspectiva holística- que en el mismo espacio existen dos comunidades mutuamente complementarias y funcionales que, dentro del articulado teórico general del proyecto de investigación de Sanabria y López (2008), se conjugan para organizar los elementos comprensivos de la calidad de la vida.
