El maestro como catalizador del poder

Abstract

Este artículo es el resultado de una reflexión personal sobre los roles que ha desempenado el maestro enlas comunidades occidentales a través de la historia y de su responsabilidad social especialmente en eldesarrollo de las clases privilegiadas y por ende de la generación de poder a través del conocimiento;generada en los espacios correspondientes a Historia de la Pedagogía y Epistemología de la Ciencia en elprograma de Maestría en Docencia de la Universidad de La Salle. Las organizaciones sociales caracterizadaspor relaciones culturales específicas a su entorno,han estado soportadas bajo estructuras de poder enlas que la generación y transmisión de conocimiento siempre están presentes de conformidad con losintereses del grupo o de los grupos sociales preponderantes, o de las «necesidades» productivase ideológicas de las sociedades en conjunto. Una mirada panorámica a través de la historia de lassociedades occidentales, nos permitirá encontrar algunas coincidencias básicas entre el poder, elquehacer de los educadores y su influencia en los grupos sociales, de conformidad con su papel en laestructura social en sus principales momentos.
