El riesgo país para Colombia: interpretación e implicaciones para la economía y la inversión extranjera, 2012-2017

Abstract

Evaluar el grado de riesgo país y monitorear los avances de la economía es un factor importante de inversión. Este riesgo es un indicador específico de países emergentes y un referente importante de decisión para la inversión extranjera, permite evaluar la inversión y disenar portafolios afines, razón que motiva al análisis y la interpretación de su relación con el nivel de inversión extranjera y, a su vez, con el PIB como indicador de desempeno de la economía. El artículo muestra cómo, aunque el país está en el rango de una economía “satisfactoria” con perspectiva estable —lo que facilita el financiamiento extranjero público y privado—, el nivel de inversión extranjera durante el periodo 2014-2015 ha retornado a niveles de 2010, frenando así el crecimiento de la economía colombiana
