Abstract

Abstract: This paper presents a survey of the Almost Ideal Demand System - AIDS- in which some theoretical and empirical advances that this subject has had are shown. Also, the most relevant journals in which you will find articles about the AIDS model and the fields to which it has been applied are pointed out. This paper is divided in three sections: a general panorama, some theoretical advances and theoretical results about some estimations. Finally, some conclusions where the importance and easyness of the model to include non-economical variables in the explanation of demand behaviour are outlined.
