El cálculo del PIB potencial en Colombia: una nota metodológica

Abstract

“El PIB potencial ha sido estimado en general usando la metodología de Okun, la cual consiste en unir los "picos" observados en el PIB. Aunque este método sirve para analizar la tendencia de largo plazo del PIB potencial, no da información sobre sus variaciones ano tras ano. El propósito de este trabajo es estimar el PIB potencial en Colombia para el período 1953-1990, partiendo de la capacidad productiva de la economía, es decir, del acervo de capital existente. El PIB potencial será simplemente aquel que corresponda a este acervo de capital, dada una relación producto/capital.”
