Movilidad social: realidad, opinión y consecuencias

Abstract

Durante el primer semestre del año 2005, una importante revista de circulación nacional publicó un artículo sobre la próxima generación de colombianos llamada a suceder a quienes hoy ostentan poder, dinero y reconocimiento social. El artículo mencionaba cuarenta personas menores de cuarenta años que, según los editorialistas de la revista, estaban llamadas a ocupar posiciones de privilegio y visibilidad en el sector público y la empresa privada, así como en las artes y las ciencias. Más que examinar los atributos de los seleccionados o especular sobre los sesgos de los seleccionadores, resulta ilustrativo reparar en las reacciones de los lectores ante la publicación del artículo.
