Política fiscal, crecimiento y desigualdad: un enfoque de equilibrio general

Abstract

La provisión de bienes públicos es un mecanismo importante a través del cual la riqueza se puede distribuir en la sociedad. Este documentodesarrolla un modelo en el cual el capital público es a la vez un motor de crecimiento y un determinante de la distribución de lariqueza y de la relación crecimiento-desigualdad. La trayectoria en el tiempo de la desigualdad del ingreso, antes y después de impuestos,es muy sensible a las políticas de financiamiento y en muchos casos se caracteriza por fuertes compensaciones intertemporales, dondela desigualdad del ingreso disminuye en el corto plazo pero se incrementa en el largo plazo. Se demuestra que la relación crecimientodesigualdaddepende críticamente del efecto de las externalidades en las decisiones de asignación de las políticas de financiamiento ydel período de tiempo en consideración.
