Pobreza y desarrollo económico: una aproximación al análisis institucional

Abstract

Este artículo presenta una revisión teórica del análisis de la pobreza en el contexto del desarrollo económico. El objetivo de este documento es explorar los elementos contextuales del origen de la pobreza, haciendo énfasis en los elementos institucionales referidos a la economía mundial. Con la utilización de diferentes fuentes de datos estadísticos con base en el Banco Mundial, datos nacionales de Colombia y América Latina se establecen elementos de análisis de hechos estilizados. En la parte estadística se utilizan correlaciones básicas de las principales variables relacionadas con la pobreza. Este documento no utiliza análisis complejo, ni enfatiza la importancia de una metodología en particular, al contrario utiliza una argumentación sustentada en hechos comunes. A partir de indicadores estadísticos presentados de forma grafica, correlaciones pares se muestran los elementos esenciales de la naturaleza de la pobreza
