El gasto en salud y su relación con el ingreso, la escolaridad y el tipo de vinculación al sistema general de seguridad social: evidencia para el departamento de Risaralda

Abstract

El objetivo principal de este trabajo es explicar cómo se relaciona el gasto en salud con el ingreso, la escolaridad y el tipo de afiliación de las personas al sistema general de seguridad social en salud en el departamento del Risaralda. Se realiza una revisión de la literatura que sirve como base teórico-conceptual y se propone, a manera de hipótesis, las interrelaciones tan fuertes que se presentan entre la salud, la escolaridad y el nivel de ingreso. Con el fin de validar esta hipótesis se pueda darse entre el crecimiento económico y el capital humano. A pesar de los avances en la noción de capital salud, existen ciertos problemas al momento deincluirlo como determinante importante del crecimiento económico. Esta dificultad estima un modelo econométrico a través del cual se logra validar las relaciones de causalidad existentes entre el gasto en salud, el nivel de escolaridad y los ingresos en el departamento de Risaralda.
